The forum will take place from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. and will be held in the third-floor banquet room of the Bristol Motor Speedway administration building. Coffee and a light breakfast will be served. All organizations that support children in the region are invited to attend.
STRONG Kids brings together and assists local and regional organizations that support children. STRONG Kids was formed in April 2019 through a partnership between the Bristol chapter of Speedway Children's Charities, Ballad Health and Niswonger Children's Hospital. The goal for STRONG Kids is to enable these groups to share ideas and best practices that will help children in the area reach their potential through expanded opportunities in health, education and economic vitality. The partnership was created to bring a new level of support to these organizations that are on the front lines serving children.
During the STRONG Kids forum, officials representing various organizations will share knowledge on important topics like current regional efforts, best practices and ways to align resources among different organizations in order to have the biggest impact. The forum also will provide technical assistance, training and best practices for children's organizations in attendance.
STRONG Kids is an initiative of the STRONG Accountable Care Community (STRONG ACC). STRONG stands for Striving Toward Resilience and Opportunity for the Next Generation. The STRONG ACC is a multi-sector, collective impact coalition of over 330 partner organizations working together to create brighter futures for children, families and communities throughout the 21-county region of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. The STRONG ACC is governed by a 24-member Leadership Council comprised of 12 Virginians and 12 Tennesseans representing a broad cross-section of community leaders and stakeholders. Ballad Health and United Way of Southwest Virginia serve as backbone organizations for the STRONG ACC.
