After a one year hiatus, the NHRA Junior Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals Pres. By Mike Bos Chassis Craft returns to Bristol Dragway, July 15-20, 2024! Thunder Valley hosts the future of drag racing during the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals.

Aspiring drag racers, ages 6-17, from across the country will come to Bristol hoping to hone their skills on the national stage. A future NHRA World Champion may get the first national event win of his or her career in Thunder Valley.

Add the Mike Bos Chassis Craft Jr. Dragster Nationals and Mike Bos Chassis Craft Fun Races occurring during the days leading into the Eastern Conference Finals and this becomes one of the greatest weeks of Jr. Dragster racing anywhere, attracting racers from across the East Coast and abroad.

Bristol Dragway has played host to the Eastern Conference Finals since 2004. Competitors race for individual and team honors at the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals. The event awards a Wally and a cash prize to the winner in each of the eight age categories: 6-9, 10, 11,12, 13, 14, 15, 16-17 — and a Wally to each member of the winning team.

2024 Mike Bos Fun Races

Drag racing’s next generation of stars thunder into Bristol Dragway July 8-10 for the Mike Bos Chassis Craft Jr. Dragster Nationals, followed by the Mike Bos Fun Races on July 11-13. Leading into Eastern Conference Finals action, the Nationals have become one of the greatest junior dragster events in the country and provides competitors the opportunity to tune their cars prior to eliminations.

Drivers ranging in age from eight to 17 will participate in several events throughout the weekend including Saturday’s index class racing and Sunday’s bracket racing. Index races take place in 7.90, 8.90, 11.90 and 12.90 classes (12.90 class is reserved for 8-9 year old racers). Competitors participating in bracket races will be divided into one of four age groups – 6-9, 10-12, 13-14 and 15-17. A $300 cash prize will be awarded to the winner in each class with $200 going to the runner-up, $100 to semifinalists and $50 to quarterfinalists.

Fun Races are also slated to take place on Tuesday, July 12 and Wednesday, July 13 with the 13-17 age group racing Tuesday presented by jrdragsterparts.com and ages 6-12 scheduled the second day. Winners from each class receive a $400 grand prize with $300 awarded to the runners-up, $200 to semifinalists and $100 to quarter finalists.

Tech inspection will begin at 8:30 a.m. both days with the first round of time trials slated to begin at 9:00 a.m. The runs consist of two time trials and an elimination round.

Gates are slated to open at noon on Friday with registration and tech inspection also beginning at noon. Gates open at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday with Time Trials beginning at 9:00 a.m., and index class elimination at 3:30 p.m. Sunday’s gates open at 9 a.m. with a church service scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Time trials take place at 10:30 a.m., and eliminations begin at 1 p.m. Gates open at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for junior each day. A weekend pass is also available at $25 for adults and $10 for children.
