Friends of Bristol Motor Speedway,
I hope this letter finds you and all of your loved ones safe and healthy.
During these unprecedented times, the world continues to adapt and come together to do everything within our collective power to slow the spread of COVID-19. We want you to know that your well-being is foremost in our minds and our decision-making. We are fully committed to keeping our guests, fans, community and employees informed of the latest developments as we prepare for our upcoming racing events.
We remain in constant contact with public health officials regarding this ever-changing situation. While our Food City 500 NASCAR Cup Series race weekend has been postponed, we are working with all of our partners to be able to once again bring you the exciting racing action you've come to love at The Last Great Colosseum. NASCAR has indicated it intends to make up all postponed events and run a full 36 race schedule. We will share that information with you as soon as it becomes available.
Just like most businesses across the country, our administration building and racing facilities are currently closed to the public as we follow the governmental guidelines for social distancing. Most of our Bristol Motor Speedway team members are working from home during this time, and we greatly appreciate your patience should you call and leave a message. I promise we'll get back in touch with you.
To assist you during this time, please be aware of the following resources:
- In an effort to support our community here in the Appalachian Highlands region, Bristol Motor Speedway will be partnering with our friends at Marsh Regional Blood Center and Ballad Health to conduct a blood drive on Monday, March 23rd at our North Entrance, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Blood supplies are gravely low and we certainly want to do our part to help our neighborhood health officials. Please know that this event will be slightly different than our annual Sept. 11 blood drives, in that we are working with our partners on ways to execute social distancing for this activity. Stay tuned to our website for more information about how you can come here and donate blood.
- And for those who are looking for a racing fix, we encourage you to tune in to the first-of-its-kind eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series race on FS1 starting with Sunday's virtual race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Fans can watch the event live at 1:30 p.m. ET on FS1 and with the FOX Sports app. FOX Sports broadcasters Jeff Gordon, Mike Joy and Larry McReynolds will call the action in the 90-minute esports race featuring the sport's best, including Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin, current NASCAR Cup Series points leader Joey Logano, reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch and fan favorites such as Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell. Several retired drivers are also entered, including Dale Earnahrdt Jr. and Bobby Labonte among others.
- If you have questions during this time, feel free to call and email the BMS Ticket Office. Our ticketing team members working remotely will be able to assist you. Please contact them directly at 866-974-1643 or via email at [email protected]. You can always check our website for the latest developments at bristolmotorspeedway.com. Should there be any significant changes to any of our current event schedules, we'll immediately let you know by sending you an email, making updates to our website, and posting information to all of our social channels.
Every one of us at Bristol Motor Speedway continues to thank you for your patience and understanding as we move forward. We continue to pray for all of those affected by this pandemic and look forward to brighter days ahead.
Stay safe,
Jerry Caldwell
Executive Vice President and General Manager
