Throughout the year, race fans and the many visitors to the Appalachian Highlands region show their support to Bristol Motor Speedway's chapter of Speedway Children's Charities with donations and volunteer hours.
On Thursday, Nov. 14, BTES (Bristol Tennessee Essential Services) will sponsor SCC-Bristol's Night of Smiles and air the event live on local channel BTES Power 7, beginning at 7 p.m. The Night of Smiles serves as the best time of the year for BMS' SCC chapter as Executive Director Claudia Byrd and her Board of Directors team award grant money to over 100 agencies in the region that support children in need. In addition to the broadcast, both BTES and BMS will livestream the event on their respective Facebook pages.
"The Night of Smiles is the most special evening of the year and we are so blessed that BTES will showcase this wonderful event to the community on their Power 7 local channel," said Byrd. "We invite everyone to tune in with BTES and on Facebook to see this celebration of everyone's hard work to help raise money for child-focused agencies in the area."
Over its history, SCC-Bristol has raised nearly $15 million to help child-focused agencies through the support of The Pinnacle Speedway in Lights and numerous race weekend activities. SCC-Bristol and BMS would like to thank all those who have donated and volunteered to help make a difference in the lives of children.
