Greg McElroy to BMS?

I know NASCAR has a rabid following. I've tried to get into it after living in Charlotte, but I still find it unwatchable.

Am I watching it wrong? Am I missing the strategies? I legitimately want to sit down with a driver/fan and watch a race.
