NASCAR drivers are back on track tomorrow (Friday), and that means the April 21-23 race weekend will be here before you know it. In nine weeks, to be exact, the World's Fastest Half-Mile will return to life with three days of NASCAR action.

Many fans are already in full planning mode for the 25th Anniversary of the Food City 500, so below you'll find some helpful travel tips to make it as easy as possible to make the trek into Northeast Tennessee.

AUTOMOBILE:

For those driving in - the most common way fans arrive at the track - here are a few tips on how to best map out your trip to BMS.

  • Visit the DIRECTIONS page here on our website. It provides helpful travel trips, and will be updated to more 2017 information about a month out from the event.
  • Plan your parking location for best exit. The way you came in might not be the way you leave the track. Review the egress maps by clicking here and find the ideal parking spot to match with the direction you need to depart.
  • Don't trust the GPS. The traffic patterns and time to arrive at your destination will be adjusted during race weekend. Plan as much as possible ahead of time and allow plenty of time to arrive.

AIR TRAVEL:

If you plan to take a flight to attend the Food City 500 weekend, here are the three (3) closest airports to the track.

BUS/GROUP RIDE:

Quickly becoming a favorite option for many BMS guests is group travel. Here's a few options to consider.

  • PrimeSport - If you're looking for a turnkey travel package that includes transportation, look no further than PrimeSport! Packages range in options but can include tickets, premium experinces, FanVision rental, lodging and raceday transportation.
  • Rallybus - Rallybus is a great option to let someone else take care of the travel and start your tailgating early. They currently have pick-up options in Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia!
  • Park & Ride - BMS works directly with the Tri-Cities area to create local spots to provide a roundtrip shuttle service for race fans. We're currently in the process of finalizing those plans, but want to let you know that option will be available. The details will be updated on our website when Park & Ride information is finalized.
