The Food City Speedway in Lights 5K presented by Fleet Feet returns for its 11th year this Sunday, Nov. 7, where hundreds of festive participants will be the first to tour the region's largest and most dazzling holiday lights display as they run and walk along the illuminated route that will circle all around the BMS property, including past the historic Bristol Dragway before crossing the Home Trust Bank Finish Line inside the infield of the iconic high-banked half-mile speedway.

Growing in stature as the most tradition-rich holiday 5K of the Appalachian Highlands region, the event officially kicks off Speedway Children’s Charities-Bristol's annual winter festivities and serves as a major fundraiser for the organization.

“We are so thrilled to kick off another amazing winter events schedule with the Food City Speedway in Lights 5K presented by Fleet Feet,” said Claudia Byrd executive director of SCC-Bristol. “There's nothing better than running for a great cause along the Pinnacle Speedway in Lights route around the Bristol Motor Speedway property. We can't thank our sponsors, participants and volunteers enough for what they do to support our chapter, which has raised nearly $18 million throughout its history to support local children in need.”

Once participants cross the finish line in the Food City Speedway in Lights 5K presented by Fleet Feet they will be able to enjoy some drinks, snacks and treats at the Christmas-themed Home Trust Bank After Party, held in the BMS infield.

Online registration for this event is now closed. On-site registration will be available on the day of the event, at $35 adults/$20 kids, however the commemorative event t-shirts are not guaranteed that day and will be available while supplies lasts.

Participant arrival is scheduled between 4-5:30 p.m., and instructions for parking and packet pickup, which will include each person’s commemorative event t-shirt, will be sent via email a week before the event. The 5K will begin promptly at 6 p.m. ET. All participants should enter the Speedway property through the track’s North entrance off Volunteer Parkway (Highway 11E).
